A recent assignment was carried out on behalf of a major organisation in the UK nuclear industry. The assignment was an in-depth examination of their existing maintenance practices and procedures at their facility based in South Oxfordshire.

The client was particularly interested in the impact on asset reliability of a forthcoming change from 16 hr / 5 day to 24 hr / 7 day operation. Detailed study of all the maintenance regimes, maintenance/operations interaction, work instructions and CMMS system were undertaken, as well as individual one-on-one interviews with a wide cross section of individuals from operational and maintenance disciplines at all levels.

After conclusion of the site-based investigations, analysis of the findings was carried out as well as benchmarking exercises to highlight to the client the positioning of their maintenance regimes in terms of 'world class' comparisons. Due consideration was also given to the necessity to retain safety case derived key safety and safety related maintenance tasks, as well as all Statutory requirements

A detailed report was provided to the client which provided full information of the work undertaken, methodology used, issues and problems encountered and recommendations for further improvement.

We were recently approached by a major Heating Controls manufacturer based in the North of England to write an instruction manual for one of their new range of innovative digital thermostats.

The manual was produced, approved and sent to the printers within 10 days! The client was so pleased with the work we carried out that they immediately asked us to produce a further instruction manual, this time for one of their new digital heating controllers. Production of this manual was also completed within a very similar timescale to the first manual.

As a result of our commitment and responsiveness to the client, they have rewarded us by asking us to not only write the instruction manuals for the new products being launched this year, but also to rewrite over 25 of their existing manuals.
